Hamburg and Altona Marriage Abstracts
All the marriages from the oldest churchbooks in the Hamburg area
up to 1750 have been abstracted and indexed in volumes
acquired by the Immigrant Genealogical Society Library. Our
volunteeers can search the indexes for your ancestor's surname,
list how many times the surname appears in the records of
each individual church within Hamburg and in each village or
parish surrounding the city. (These include Altoona, which was an
area from which there were many emigrants and today is part of
the city of Hamburg.)
We will provide copies of 3 records -- you may tell us from which parish /
village you wish the copies made. If you can provide the surname
of both the groom and bride, we can cross-check indexes to try to
identify your specific marriage.
The following parishes and villages are included:

all cases the parish is identified so you will know where to go
